Information about a spellbow isn't that easy to find. But they are archers/rangers that have picked up magic use like a mage.
Or a mage that have picked up a bow. They like most mages focus on something, but usualy have knowlage in most magic fields.
But spellbows why are they even around. Im going to say this now finding infromation about them isn't easy. But they are around becouse of the blood elf/High elf magical use and the fact that they relay heavily on bows to defend thier homes.
There are many ways for them to fight. Some use arrows and enchant them. Others conjures arrows that they wish to use. Both have thier advantages and disadvantages.
Conjured arrows. They are usualy faster to use and have slight faster spell reaction when they hit. They still carry alot of power with them and move faster then most spells that needs to travel to thier target.
Enchanted arrows. They take more time to prepare. but can be prepared in advance of anything happening. Just like the conjured one they travel fast. But they can hold more powerful spells in the end.
Many spellbows combind normal spells in to thier fighting such as short teleports or anything that they will find useful at the time.
Are there veriations of the spellbow like with mages. And yes there are a few but none that are named.
An example is the "Fel bow" a spellbow that uses fel magic over anything else.
Spellbows are really powerful becouse of thier combination of the different training. Just like the battlemage and warmage. Or even spellblade. In support of troops in air or on ground they can do the job of a mage and an archer.
